Stage 1: Application
Applications must include:
1. A completed Personal Details application form.
2. A curriculum vitae* including education, professional qualifications and full employment history, giving details of key achievements.
When giving details in your CV you should highlight your experience in line with essential criteria below:
• Providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers.
• Linux Operating Systems, Python and Helm.
• Infrastructure-as-code across cloud providers using Ansible.
• Configuration-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments using Ansible.
• Version Controls systems (Git and GitLab CI).
• Working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications (in particular AWS and Azure).
• Containers and containerised workloads e.g. orchestration services such as OpenShift, Kubernetes and ISTIO.
When giving details of your CV, you should therefore include details of the work and projects that you have been involved in, and your role therein.

Stage 2: Telephone Interview
Candidates who are successful at sift will be invited to undertake a brief preliminary discussion which should take no longer than 20 minutes in total via Microsoft Teams.
The purpose of the conversation is to further explore your experience for the role and what interests you about the role. This conversation provides you with the opportunity to share some personal insight as part of the shortlist stage of this campaign.
Stage 3: Interview
If you’re successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the following experiences.
• Helping set the strategic direction for DevOps teams and wider engineering community.
• Experience of providing support, guidance and oversight.
• Sharing of knowledge and good practice with the wider Engineering community.
• Experience of providing technical leadership.
• Significant experience of infrastructure-as-code.
• Significant experience of working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications (in particular AWS and Azure).
Candidates will be asked to do a short (5 -10 minutes) technical exercise on a specific topic. Further details will be provided to candidates invited to interview.
Throughout the whole recruitment process – application, technical exercise and interview – the accuracy and clarity of your communication will be assessed.
Interviews will take place from February 2022.

You must meet the security requirements before you can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.
For meaningful checks to be carried out individuals you will need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time, to enable appropriate checks to be carried out and produce a result which provides the required level of assurance. Whilst a lack of UK residency in itself is not necessarily a bar to a security clearance, and expectation of UK residency may range from 3 to 5 years. Failure to meet the residency requirements needed for the role may result in the withdrawal of provisional jobs offers.
A reserve list may be held for a period of 6 months from which further appointments can be made.

Applicants who are successful at interview will be, as part of pre-employment screening, subject to a check on the Internal Fraud Database (IFD).
