Are you a Senior Marketing Communications Manager with through the line B2B marketing communications experience that can deliver compelling campaigns to market?

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Communications Manager, and there may be more than one role available as the UKHO is an organisation looking to grow.

As part of our Marketing team, you will ensure effective communications with the market using advertising placement, PR, web and other related media, including events. This involves devising and implementing marketing communication plans in line with corporate and commercial objectives and other performance targets.

You will proactively develop marketing campaigns, coordinating with key stakeholders and managing relationships with external agencies to ensure successful delivery to time and budget. This will require you to demonstrate and apply detailed market, customer and competitor understanding to ensure marketing communications meet business objectives

Job description

This role is a key position within the Customer Division and wider business.
Leading campaigns to support divisional and strategic priorities, this role requires development and implementation of integrated global marketing communications, with a digital 1st focus.

This is a fast-paced, complex and diverse role, with a broad remit across the mix, including media, PR, events and marketing content, all of which impacts the wider marketing strategy and our world-leading brand perception.

You will be working with multiple senior stakeholders, with support from the wider marketing team of digital and brand marketing experts to deliver your campaigns

Responsibilities

The Senior Marketing Communications Manager will own and develop through the line campaigns to support the UKHO’s strategic priorities ranging from market leadership within the navigation market through to corporate communications such as delivery of the annual report.

The successful candidate will also:
• In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, define and manage the marketing communication plan on an annual basis to support our Corporate vision, by delivering objectives including supporting our positioning as a world-leading centre for hydrography and providing marketing tools for the organisation. The plan will include advertising, exhibitions, events, web, social, PR and campaigns.
• Demonstrate and apply detailed market, customer and competitor understanding to ensure marketing communications meet business objectives.
• Proactively develop marketing campaigns, including the setting of objectives and milestones, and execute them in conjunction with partners, in line with the communication plan.
• Manage senior stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team, senior managers in other business areas and agencies to ensure the successful execution and delivery of strong communication campaigns.
• Manage relationships with external agency, including provision of briefing documents, ensuring they are clear about their objectives / role, monitoring activity, holding regular meetings to ensure delivery of planned activity to time and budget.
• Conduct research and fact-finding to monitor market trends in collaboration with the Research Design and Innovation team to stay ahead of the competition and adjusting the communication mix to suit market conditions

• This role is open to full time, part time, job share. The UKHO will consider flexible working or workplace adjustments, where appropriate.
• Security – successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check and gain a Security Clearance and or a Developed Vetting Clearance
• This position is a fixed term position non-reserved post with the possibility of permanency which is open to full time candidates. The role will be contractually based at our Head Office in Taunton. We are working remotely at present but envisage a hybrid working model post pandemic whereby you will be able to balance your work location between working remotely and in the office. You must be able to travel to the office as and when required. It is anticipated that this will be twice weekly due to the needs of this team.

This is a Ministry of Defence non-reserved post and although open to UK, British Commonwealth and European Economic Area nationals, successful applicants will require a security clearance (SC) and therefore need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 12 consecutive months within the last 5 years.
