The NCA is an organisation which leads the UKs fight to cut serious and organised crime. This includes class A drugs, child exploitation, people smuggling and human trafficking, major gun crime, fraud, cyber crime, money laundering and the corruption that organised criminals use to facilitate these crimes.

Grade & Role Title: G5 Intelligence Officer - CEOP (2 year Secondment)

Salary: The salary band for this position is £24,964 to £30,626. Where existing Civil Servants or police officers/staff apply on transfer to the NCA at the equivalent grade/rank, pay principles on Civil Service transfers/police secondments will apply.
Additional London Weighting Allowance of £3,226.
A secondment opportunity has arisen for an intelligence officer within CEOP.
This post requires an officer who has experience of working in CAIU / CAIT or POLIT team as they will be required to:
Understand risks to children and recognize the need for contingency planning for safeguarding intervention activity without compromising an investigation;
Understand and manage the risk of users using different platforms to share IIOC;
Develop offender/victim based proactive investigations;
Investigate data from various systems, used to examine the problem of image sharing activity, for the purpose of intervening through safeguarding/tactical activity.
Work with law enforcement both Nationally to disseminate quick time intelligence regarding high risk individuals who are potential contact offenders with access to children therefore removing the risk of sexual exploitation;
Support and liaise with CEOP operations and UK LE.
Provide advice regarding the use of image sharing platforms to CEOP Operations and UK LE and discuss safeguarding strategies, liaising with child protection advisers.
Officers should note that this role involves frequent exposure to child abuse images and material. All officers working in CEOP must undergo a psychological wellbeing assessment before taking up the role and at regular intervals once in post.
