Summary

The main purpose of the role is to provide insight through analysis of data relating to NS&I’s products, services, customers and communications activities.

The analyst will be responsible for co-ordinating and producing communications evaluation.

Job description

To be an expert on NS&I data and how it can be analysed, modelled and transformed to provide stakeholders with the insight and information they need with a primary focus on the performance tracking and evaluation of communications activities.

Ensure plans are in place to evaluate all marketing campaigns and communication activity. To evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns against agreed objectives and targets.

Provide analysis and insight on the NS&I customer base. To support the business achieve its objectives through the production and provision of visually engaging information, analysis and insight relating to customer, product and channel activity or other areas as required.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis
• To be an expert on the NS&I Data Warehouse structure, content, capabilities and limitations
• To be an expert in the interrogation and interpretation of customer data within the DWH using the tools available and appropriate techniques
• To support internal customers with the delivery of a wide range of analysis and information requests
• To be able to explain analysis to non-data literate internal customers
• To provide support to Projects and business change, by providing insight as required

Evaluation
• To produce dashboards that track the on-going performance of NS&I communications activities
• To produce post campaign analysis using the appropriate data and tools to measure the impact of the activity against objectives and agreed targets
• To produce campaign evaluation reports for each activity to agreed timescales covering the objectives, targets, campaign plan, external factors, outcomes, outtakes and learnings
• To be able to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders

Evaluation Planning
• To manage evaluation planning for all communication activities that will require evaluation, working with business owners of the activity to articulate realistic and measurable objectives and targets
• To maintain a list of evaluation plans
• To manage the assurance process for evaluation plans

Evaluation Group
• To manage the evaluation requests and evaluation reports to be reviewed by the evaluation group
• To manage the evaluation results register and dashboard as a single source of results for activities that have been evaluated
• To promote the value and need for robust and timely evaluation to support the ongoing effectiveness and optimisation of communication activities

Campaign targeting
• To support pre campaign analysis to guide targeting (selections and success criteria) and estimate impact for activity based on previous learnings and current conditions
• To understand the range of means available with which to target different populations for different objectives including data variables, propensity models and segmentations

Internal Relationship Management
• To work with campaign and communication activity owners and stakeholders understanding their range of objectives and strategies and how evaluation can support that
• To work with the Atos DWH Maintenance Team raising queries relating to data needed for the provision of evaluation analysis which will require input from Atos
• To work with colleagues in competitor intelligence, research and customer experience to ensure appropriate levels of information are available to support the evaluation of activity that has occurred

Data Development
• To translate evaluation needs to the specification of enhancements and developments to the data sources available to ensure the data we have available is relevant as the business evolves

Cross team support
• To support other members of the Business Insight team when needed

  • A good understanding of and experience in presentation and dashboard building
  • Solid working knowledge of a data analysis language or tool (e.g. R, SAS or alternative)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and a good working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Solid working knowledge of a business intelligence/data retrieval tool/language or a data visualisation tool (Tableau, Business Objects, SQL or similar tools for analysis and report production)

If shortlisted for the role, you will be required to complete an assessment task and be invited to attend a 1 hour panel interview via video call.

Interviews will take place on 2nd or 3rd November 2021
