Job summary

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is a small government department with a big remit. Our fundamental mission is food you can trust. By this, we mean that people can trust that the food they buy and eat is safe and what it says it is, and food is healthier and more sustainable. The FSA’s work touches the lives of everyone in the country.

We’re looking for a Policy Manager to join the Regulatory Compliance team’s Delivery Support Unit, working to progress policies and legislations that enable us to carry out effective official food standards controls across the country.

Job description

You’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible, lasting impact on these controls, supporting the implementation of key modernisation efforts that will better prepare us for the years ahead in the rapidly evolving food industry.

Collaboration will play a key part in your success. You will work in close partnership with the local authorities that carry out our controls, helping to deliver a policy approach that works as well on the ground as it does on paper. This is a fascinating and varied role that will offer you the opportunity to use your project management skills to deliver important and impactful work.
