About the job

Summary

Intellectual property (IP) touches everything that makes modern life more enjoyable and prosperous. It gives innovators, creators, businesses and researchers confidence to invest in something new.

Our external communications teams play a crucial role in building awareness of IP. We help people recognise it, value and manage it. We deliver campaigns that enable students to realise its importance in their studies and career choices; and consumers to respect IP and avoid infringing it. We help engage key audiences and stakeholders so the policy and legal framework is robust and fit for the future. We give customers the information they need to navigate our services and shape our services of the future.

The IPO Strategic Communications Team has a key role in doing this. We put audience understanding at the heart of communications activity, resulting in better decision-making and improving delivery for customers and stakeholders.

This role is key in guiding the implementation of external communications activities across the IPO. It will also champion professional standards and practices across the communications teams. This includes leading on activities that improve understanding and use of insight and evaluation, as well as key elements of a new skills and professional development framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for a communicator with an interest in strategic communications looking for a fresh challenge.
