Job description

This is a full time permanent appointment as a Graduate Acoustician.

The Noise and Vibration Division (NVD) delivers a wide range of acoustics related services covering Occupational and Environmental Noise and Vibration. Our primary aim is to provide specialist scientific support on all aspects of noise and vibration to the RAF and the MOD and occasionally other defence sectors. We are a small, friendly division with a mix of civilian and military staff based within the RAF Centre of Aviation Medicine at RAF Henlow.
NVD undertake various noise and vibration assessments such as aircrew in-flight, ground crew, weapons, workshop activities, vehicles, building acoustic assessments, hearing protection, mapping of military airfield noise contours and whole body vibration of personnel.

Typical projects involve customer liaison, task management, travel to Military bases, recording and post processing data in accordance with associated British Standards / Military Standards and writing reports.

The job requires scientific knowledge and numerate ability.
Activities involve periods away from home.


Full UK driving licence


Recognised Acoustic or Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) degree

Grade entry qualifications
