Job description

The software development teams have a vacancy for motivated, hard-working team player to work in a small team assisting in the management, development and support of strategic databases and other applications.

Current systems are being developed in C#.NET, VB.NET and SQL Server 2008/2012. Emphasis is also given to GIS developments, web-based applications and mobile device development.

Your duties will include the analysis of customer requirements, the design and development of new software and the support and maintenance of existing software under an accredited quality system. You will also be responsible for the development and delivery of customer training and development and maintenance of documentation.

Applicants must have high level analytical skills, including the ability to capture and document customer requirements. Experience of developing software is essential and experience of using C#.NET or VB.NET and SQL Server, or another relational database such as MySQL, would be an advantage.

You must have experience of working as part of a team and well developed interpersonal and communication skills which will be put to good use reviewing priorities and progress with customers. You must have the ability to work under pressure and be able to organise yourself to meet demanding deadlines. You must be able to demonstrate the motivation to deliver high quality services and products to customers within agreed timescales and have a flexible approach to work. You may be required to work off site at times.

Academic qualifications required for direct entry to this Cefas Pay Band 5 post are a Computing or Scientific HND, or higher qualification.
