Inquisitive mind? Want to make a difference and be involved in the investigation of some of the UK’s most serious and complex fraud and corruption cases at our Central London office?

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is recruiting for Trainee investigators. Our investigators evaluate large volumes of material in detail and our Trainees will be mentored to undertake a range of tasks including:

Documentary review to identify key lines of enquiry and evidence;
Interviewing witnesses;
Analysing banking records and produce summaries of financial transactions and further actions required;
Participating in the gathering of evidence through searches of premises;
Producing concise and accurate written documentation e.g. witness statements, recommendations on lines of enquiry.

You will be based in central London in a mainly office based role. However, the nature of investigation work will mean you are required to work away from the office from time to time but this will always be with a reasonable notice period. The SFO welcomes applications from people who wish to work alternative working patterns although all staff must understand that high levels of personal commitment are needed to ensure the requirements of the role are met. This includes a requirement to be available to attend the office between 9-5pm for up to 4 weeks to undertake internal training during the course of the Programme. Please note to take up this role you must be able to start with us on 25 March 2019 to undertake mandatory training.
