About the job
The Finance and Payroll teams are part of the Finance, Estates and Procurement Directorate.
We aim to provide support to the business through:
Maintenance of Financial and HR Systems;
Payment of salary, invoices and Travel and Subsistence claims;
Provision of financial, decision making advice and guidance;
Maintenance of systems of internal control; and
Providing assurance on compliance with good Corporate Governance practice.
You will be expected to be a visible advocate representing the Finance and Payroll teams and will work with managers:
Improve Financial and HR information available to stakeholders;
Ensure the systems are developed so as to be fully utilised; and
Ensure that internal controls and governance arrangements are maintained.
The post holders primary duties will encompass system maintenance and administration to ensure the maximum performance of those systems:
Meet with system owners, decision makers, and end users to define the business Financial and HR operational requirements and identify and resolve issues;
Improve the business processes and operations through prototyping and developing new systems enhancements;
Develop better reporting systems and dashboards, writing reports and ensuring they are developed and maintained;
Manage technical requirements, and setup the systems to maintain schedules, backups, updates, and develop improvements
Assist with the delivery of future system roll-outs and upgrades of iTrent and Cloud Financial products, being the main point of contact for external stakeholders;
Collaborate in the design planning, development, and deployment of enhancements to existing systems and new applications;
Support the development of resilience across the team; and
Staff management and development.
Demonstrable experience of administering Financial and HR Systems;
Experience of designing and preparing management information reports;
Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise tasks and keep others updated; and
Ability to build and establish internal and external relationships with stakeholders to achieve progress on objectives.
Experience of working with iTrent and Cloud Financials (or similar); and
Experience of report building tools (such as Power BI).
