About the job

Summary

The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people, with a big vision to drive change in the food system so that it delivers food we can trust. Our primary goal is to continue to protect public health and UK consumers wider interest in food. As we have now exited the EU the FSA faces a significant period of change and activity.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the Regulatory Policy Team in FSA Wales.

With food law back in the UKs hands for the first time in almost half a century, we want to make sure that we can maintain the high standards we hold for the quality and safety of what we eat. Its important, too, that we operate in a way that represents the interests of all those living in the UK. The Regulatory Policy team works to progress policies and legislations that protect and inform the British public about their food, whilst seeking to involve the needs of Welsh stakeholders in centralised government decisions.

Mae'r Asiantaeth Safonau Bwyd (ASB) yn adran anweinidogol sydd dros 1300 o aelodau staff, gyda gweledigaeth fawr i sbarduno newid yn y system fwyd er mwyn sicrhau "bwyd y gallwn ymddiried ynddo. Ein prif nod yw parhau i ddiogelu iechyd y cyhoedd a buddiannau ehangach defnyddwyr y DU mewn perthynas bwyd. Gan ein bod bellach wedi ymadael r Undeb Ewropeaidd (UE), mae'r ASB yn wynebu cyfnod sylweddol o newid a gweithgarwch.

Mae cyfle cyffrous wedi codi fel rhan o'r Tm Polisi Rheoleiddio yn yr ASB yng Nghymru.

Gyda chyfraith bwyd yn l yn nwylo'r DU am y tro cyntaf mewn bron i hanner canrif, rydym ni am sicrhau ein bod ni'n gallu cynnal y safonau uchel sydd gennym ni ar gyfer ansawdd a diogelwch yr hyn rydyn ni'n ei fwyta. Mae'n bwysig hefyd ein bod nin gweithredu mewn ffordd sy'n cynrychioli buddiannau pawb sy'n byw yn y DU. Mae'r tm Polisi Rheoleiddio yn gweithio i ddatblygu polisau a deddfwriaethau sy'n diogelu ac yn hysbysu'r cyhoedd ym Mhrydain am eu bwyd, wrth geisio cynnwys anghenion rhanddeiliaid Cymru ym mhenderfyniadau canolog y llywodraeth.
