The Assistant Director Development Finance will report to the Director of Loans and will be part of the Loans senior team, originating transactions from the Levelling Up Home Building Fund (LUHBF).  

 

Job description

They will play a critical role in leading and managing a team of enthusiastic and experienced lenders and surveyors focusing on providing residential development finance loans to SME developers and house builders. This is part of our mission to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector and helping new entrants in the market. 

 

The Director of Loans believes in working in a collaborative, flexible way and as part of the Loans senior team you will have the chance to shape Loans strategy and future funding programmes. There are some ambitious and exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the Loans offering. 

Person specification

You'll likely be from a debt finance or surveying background.  

 

You’ll have extensive experience in assessing, structuring, and pricing property development proposals, optimising risk and reward, and mitigating risks from a lender’s perspective.  

 

You will have successfully led and managed a team of individuals involved in the provision of lending products to the house-building and residential development sector.  You will be comfortable deputising for the Director of Loans when required. 

 

As a strong communicator, both orally and written you will demonstrate a track record of building external professional networks. You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines and will be used to "spinning several plates" at once.  

 

You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade. 

 

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a Loans team.
